Time flies when you're having fun and when you're with the main one you love. As the years go by, perhaps your anniversaries begin to sneak through to you, with you and your family member seemingly always ending up going out to dinner again. Or possibly the big day comes and goes, and that you don't do anything at all because you are on a limited budget and can't think of something to accomplish this is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a trip to the wine country sounds perfect; but is it worth refinancing your house and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Listed here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new approaches to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take your day off from work, switch off the mobile phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your busy everyday lives. Celebrate your life together because that is what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If that is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If that is your 10th anniversary, provide a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Create a game from it, and see who is able to appear with creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For each anniversary year, you will find traditional gifts that you can give. As an example, the gift for the very first year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your better half stationery you have customized, a guide, a love letter, or anything else associated with paper. It doesn't need to be expensive, just thoughtful. There's also a modern anniversary gift for every year. For example, for the fourth anniversary, the modern gift is appliances, which is actually a lot cheaper than the usual pricey bit of technology. If you're enthusiastic about what these gifts are, this is a handy listing of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I've ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I am not sure where it is. But what's the purpose of having a movie made if you're not going to view it? Your anniversary is a good opportunity to keep in mind that special day, so dust off that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If you do not have one, perhaps you've a movie of a holiday you took or another memorable occasion. Or even, look during your wedding album or pictures that you have got during your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you're feeling only a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for every other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, just like a photo album or scrapbook of the last year's events.
