Time flies when you're having a good time and if you are with the main one you love. Since the years go by, perhaps your anniversaries begin to sneak through to you, with you and your family member seemingly always ending up venturing out to dinner again. Or probably the big day comes and goes, and you don't do some thing because you are on a tight budget and can't think of something to do that is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a visit to the wine country sounds perfect; but is it worth refinancing your house and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new ways to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take the afternoon faraway from work, switch off the mobile phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your own busy everyday lives. Celebrate your daily life together because that's what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If this is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If this is your 10th anniversary, offer a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Produce a game from it, and see who can show up with the most creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For every single anniversary year, you will find traditional gifts as possible give. Like, the gift for the initial year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your spouse stationery you have customized, a book, a love letter, or other things associated with paper. It doesn't need to be expensive, just thoughtful. There is also a contemporary anniversary gift for each year. Like, for the fourth anniversary, the present day gift is appliances, which might be a lot cheaper than the usual pricey bit of technology. If you're enthusiastic about what these gifts are, here is a handy set of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I've ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I am not sure where it is. But what's the purpose of getting a video made if you're not going to watch it? Your anniversary is a good opportunity to consider that special day, so pull out that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If you do not have one, perhaps you have a movie of a secondary you took or another memorable occasion. Or even, look throughout your wedding album or pictures that you took during your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you should be feeling a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for every other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, like a photo album or scrapbook of the previous year's events.
