20th Anniversary Celebration Suggestions
Time flies when you are having a great time and if you are with usually the one you love. While the years go by, perhaps your anniversaries begin to sneak up on you, with you and your family member seemingly always finding yourself venturing out to dinner again. Or perhaps the big day comes and goes, and you do not do anything more because you're on a small budget and can't think of something to accomplish this is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a visit to the wine country sounds perfect; but can it be worth refinancing your property and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new methods to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take the day faraway from work, turn off the cellular phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your own busy everyday lives. Celebrate your life together because that's what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If this is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If this is your 10th anniversary, offer a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Create a game from it, and see who can come up with creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For each anniversary year, you can find traditional gifts that you can give. For example, the gift for the very first year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your better half stationery you have customized, a guide, a love letter, or anything else associated with paper. It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful. There is also a contemporary anniversary gift for every year. For example, for the fourth anniversary, the present day gift is appliances, which could be a lot cheaper than a pricey little bit of technology. If you're enthusiastic about what these gifts are, listed here is a handy list of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I've ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I'm not sure where it is. But what's the purpose of getting a video made if you should be not going to view it? Your anniversary is a great opportunity to remember that special day, so take out that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If there isn't one, perhaps you have a movie of a holiday you took or another memorable occasion. Or even, look through your wedding album or pictures that you took during your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you should be feeling only a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for every other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, such as a photo album or scrapbook of the prior year's events.
