Time flies if you are having a great time and when you are with usually the one you love. Whilst the years pass by, perhaps your anniversaries begin to sneak up on you, with you and your loved one seemingly always ending up going out to dinner again. Or possibly the big day comes and goes, and that you don't do anything more because you are on a tight budget and can't consider something to accomplish this is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a trip to the wine country sounds perfect; but could it be worth refinancing your house and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Listed below are 5 inexpensive and exciting new ways to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take the day off from work, turn off the cell phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your own busy everyday lives. Celebrate your daily life together because that's what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If that is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If that is your 10th anniversary, offer a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Produce a game from it, and see who is able to appear with creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For each anniversary year, there are traditional gifts as possible give. For instance, the gift for the very first year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your spouse stationery you have customized, a guide, a love letter, or whatever else associated with paper. It doesn't need to be expensive, just thoughtful. There is also a modern anniversary gift for each year. Like, for the fourth anniversary, the modern gift is appliances, which could be a lot cheaper than the usual pricey piece of technology. If you're interested in what these gifts are, listed here is a handy list of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I've ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I am not sure where it is. But what's the idea of getting a movie made if you're not going to watch it? Your anniversary is a great opportunity to consider that special day, so pull out that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If there isn't one, perhaps you've a video of a vacation you took or another memorable occasion. If not, look throughout your wedding album or pictures that you took through your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you are feeling only a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for each other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, just like a photo album or scrapbook of the previous year's events.
