Time flies when you're having fun and when you're with the main one you love. While the years go by, perhaps your anniversaries start to sneak up on you, with you and your family member seemingly always ending up venturing out to dinner again. Or possibly the big day comes and goes, and that you don't do anything at all because you're on a small budget and can't consider something to do that is celebratory, memorable, and won't cost a fortune. (Sure, a trip to the wine country sounds perfect; but could it be worth refinancing your house and mortgage to finance this?)
Well, luckily, you may be both romantic and financially smart. Listed here are 5 inexpensive and exciting new ways to celebrate your anniversary.
1. Just Be Together
Take your day removed from work, turn off the cell phone, stop checking your email, and just spend some quality time together and save money. Keep it simple and remove yourselves from your own busy everyday lives. Celebrate your lifetime together because that's what your anniversary is all about.
2. Match Your Gift with Your Anniversary Year
If this is your fifth anniversary, give five roses. If this really is your 10th anniversary, give a 10-minute massage. Be thoughtful and fun. Create a game from the jawhorse, and see who can appear with creative number-themed gift.
3. Give Thoughtful Gifts
For every single anniversary year, there are traditional gifts that you can give. As an example, the gift for the initial year is traditionally paper. Consider giving your partner stationery you have customized, a guide, a love letter, or anything else associated with paper. It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful. There's also a contemporary anniversary gift for each year. For example, for the fourth anniversary, the current gift is appliances, which is actually a lot cheaper when compared to a pricey bit of technology. If you're interested in what these gifts are, here is a handy listing of traditional and modern anniversary gifts by year.
4. Watch Your Wedding Video
I don't think I have ever watched my wedding video. Honestly, I'm not really sure where it is. But what's the point of getting a movie made if you should be not going to watch it? Your anniversary is a good opportunity to keep in mind that special day, so dust off that wedding DVD and watch highlights together. If you do not have one, perhaps you have a movie of a secondary you took or another memorable occasion. If not, look through your wedding album or pictures that you took during your years together.
5. Get Crafty
If you should be feeling a little artsy, go decorate some pottery for every single other (most towns have a DIY pottery studio or two). Or make something together, just like a photo album or scrapbook of the previous year's events.
